we were gold for so long

Kate,
I received the most beautiful hand typed thing in the mail.
It was surprising and ecstatic and achingly beautiful.
It made me feel like I was powerful and could laugh at anything that did not match my strength ,
like I was unique and strong
but most importantly I felt that I was not alone in all of those things and that
the person who wrote it was strong and beautiful too,
in fact taught me a lot of what I know about it.

I think it was called the horses.
